SEGA keeps you entertained at urinals

by edwin on December 16, 2010

sega-pee-gameAs a guy, if you’re at the urinal, do you look ahead, look down, look up, or look around? That question might be answered on your behalf by SEGA soon if they have their way with their game consoles built into urinals. Yes sir, “Toirettsu”, as it is called, will require you to urinate on a target which is capable of measuring the accuracy and intensity of the stream. Such data will then be translated for you to control a series of mini-games which can then be viewed on a screen above the urinal. Some of these games include subjects like erasing graffiti and family-friendly favorites like blowing wind under a woman’s skirt and “bukkake battle” in which on screen players shoot milk from their nose. Weird, to say the least.

Rubik’s Cube Bank

by edwin on November 13, 2010

rubiksThey say that there is no free lunch in this world, and rightly so. The Rubik’s Cube Bank is different from the rest of your coin storage facilities out there, since it is pretty self-explanatory as it will come in the form of a Rubik’s Cube, where you stash away your quarters and pennies for a rainy day. Made by Tokyo-based toy maker MegaHouse, if you want to extract your savings to fulfill a new impulse purchase, you will first have to crack your brain to solve the green side (thankfully not all six). Of course, saving money will also require you to solve the yellow side as well, so it works both ways. Good thing it is quite large at 100mm × 100mm × 100mm, making it easy to manipulate even under intense pressure when you need the money, pronto! The Rubik’s Cube Bank can be yours for around $40 after conversion.

tactile-plusApple’s iPod touch, iPhone and even iPad have started to shape up to look like a pretty decent gaming device, but then again what happens when you have a beat ‘em up on that platform that requires precision movement? Enter Nosho-An, a company from Japan that is selling the “Tactile+Plus” for all iPhone and iPod touch users who want to engage in the latest arcade games like Street Fighter. Tactile+Plus is actually a set of stickers which you can “glue” on top of your iPhone/iPod touchscreen, resulting in a form of gamepad layout for you to experience the necessary tactile feedback in order to be accurate in pulling off your dragon punches at the right moment.

Thanko Ribbon Hair Band Earphones

by edwin on October 28, 2010

thankoTrust the Japanese to come up with something zany from time to time – this time around, we have the Thanko Ribbon Hair Band Earphones. Looking like some kind of Jane Bond configuration, the Thanko Ribbon Hair Band Earphones will be worn just like any other ordinary hair band, although this one comes with the added advantage of functioning as earphones. This is a fashion accessory for those who want to look cute while being able to enjoy their favorite tunes off an MP3 player.

Charging cables get all artsy fartsy

by edwin on October 27, 2010

world-of-alice-ac-adapterWho would have thought that charging cables could be works of art? Well, we have absolutely no idea why this is called The World of Alice, where this tiny wire world will see a somewhat self sufficient city lined up along the, well, power line. You get stuff like trees, vehicles and even church steeples, not to mention a factory spewing out smoke to show just how industrialized your home is. Only in Japan, this, as we are pretty sure that folks living Stateside might find this cute but impractical to have at home.

Extension cord comes with a circular hub

by edwin on October 16, 2010

monos-plugoIn this day and age, extension cords are very necessary regardless of how many appliances you have at home. Well, you will definitely need them to plug in your gamut of electronic devices and appliances since you might be sitting too far away from the nearest power outlets. To keep things looking neat, Japan’s Monos has conjured a colorful solution known as Plugo, which is in reality an extension cord with a circular hub where you can plug a trio of other devices. Whenever you aren’t using it, you will be able to wrap Plugo’s own cord around the hub for easy storage. No idea on whether this will make its way outside of Japan though.

Bye Bye Handy Shredder

by edwin on October 1, 2010

shredderA paper shredder should be something all offices have – after all, you wouldn’t want to have important information lying around for all and sundry to look at, eh? Well, now is the time most people would want to take the eco-friendly route, which is where the Bye Bye Handy Shredder comes in handy. As you can tell by its name, it will require hand crank power to get it going, where all you need to do is retract the handle, turn it and you’re ready to mash up whatever sensitive information stored on stacks of paper. At $44, it is rather steep in our books, and does resemble a Nintendo DS when you think about it.

Optical illusion watch concept from Toykoflash

by edwin on September 27, 2010

optical-illusionToykoflash has delivered a new optical illusion watch concept that might just make your eyes and brain all confused, since thinking about it alone could very well require all the IQ points you never thought you had. Why do we say so? The LED display itself is actually an optical illusion which requires you to train your eyes to see through the squiggly lines in order to read the time. Of course, one must take note that Tokyoflash watches which receive positive votes from the public will end up as actual products, so if you think this is something you’d like to see in the future, why not upvote it?
