Etch-a-Sketch receives steampunk upgrade

by edwin - on January 5th, 2011

steampunkSurely you know all about Etch-a-Sketch during your growing up years, although it might probably not have been as popular if you are in your teens now compared to folks of my generation. Well, this classic of a kid’s toy has just received a steampunk treatment thanks to Reddit user Halokitty. Most of the parts were retrieved from a 108 year old boiler (how undignified as a finish to a device which has served the house well for over a century) that was recently removed from her basement. While all those knobs and hoses look impressive, they nary add any form of function to the toy. Similar to a trophy wife, eh?
