Toshiba engineers need new calendars

Why do we say so? Well, they’re late to the game yet again, and this time round the Japanese company have come up with the D-VR8K which looks pretty sleek from afar, but upon closer inspection, you will realize that this is a DVD recorder that comes with a built-in VHS player – isn’t it a wee bit too late for that? After all, VHS tapes are all but extinct in this day and age, where full High Definition rules alongside Toshiba mulling over whether to roll out a Blu-ray player or not. There is also an analog tuner thrown in, and the only modern thing about this would be its design. I wouldn’t fancy this becoming a best seller in any market though.

You know id still buy this. It looks cool and i can still play my old jurassic park tapes.
And in this economy, id rather buy cool old movies for 50 cents on tape from garage sales than spend 30 dollars on a DVD with the same movie on it.
I guess im just stuck in the 90’s…………………
