Podio MP3 player for cyclists

by edwin - on May 4th, 2009

I often think that cyclists ought to keep their ears open at all times when they’re on the road so that they’re aware of whatever vehicles that are around the vicinity. Well, this has not stopped them from listening to their favorite MP3 tunes, so hopefully they’ll be more careful with their auditory channels closed up by a pair of earphones. The new Podio MP3 player targets cyclists as well as others who prefer to listen to their music sans earphones, where the speaker, amp and storage space are held by an 88mm metal tube which is connected to a bike’s handlebars. The internal battery is good for up to 20 hours of playback time, and it supports both WMA and MP3 file formats. No idea on pricing or availability, but such a device introduces yet another problem – not everyone agrees with your choice of music.

it seems odd that they didn’t include a dynamo to power it…
